Taking inspiration from my time in Portugal, specifically the Feira da Castanha, as a child, with these works I seek to explore the relationship between ritual and othering
These works focus on feelings of entanglement, entrapment, and punishment as a consequence of living authentically
They also work to express the suspension of marginalised groups in spaces created for their survival that is facilitated through ritual
